Tai Chi Grading System and Grading Name Listing

A great opportunity to be graded by Tai Chi Centre UK and receive an official grading certificate for those people who practicing Tai Chi along their own development!

Following the great success of organizing Wushu Duan Wei Grading for China Wushu Association in Portugal, Spain and China since 2007, Master Liming Yue and Tai Chi Centre have received a lot of experience and built a very strong direct link with China Wushu Association. Therefore, we are going to organize our own Tai Chi Grading System to help people worldwide to receive the official Tai Chi Grading from Tai Chi Centre UK. The Grading opens to all people who practicing any type of Chen Style Tai Chi form. The Centre will send official Examiners to present the assessment and the grading certificate will be given on the day.

Who can apply for Grading? The grading is open to public and it is a most suitable solution for those people who practicing Chen Style Tai Chi as an own interesting to receive an official recognition of achievement of Tai Chi level along your Tai Chi journey.

Where and when can I apply for Grading? The Grading System will take place at all seminars runs by the Centre and all of our cooperated organizations. Any of our Authorized Examiner listed below will be able to assess you and issue a Grading certificate to you at pre arranged basis up to certain level of Grading. Students in the Centre can directly apply through your instructors.

What type of certificate? All certificate will be issued as an electronic copy which is paperless or a printed copy, so please indicate which version you prefer to receive.

Where to find Grading Name Listing? All approved grading will be listed online at our Grading Name Listing

How to sign up? Please just simply download the Application form then pay for your Grading Assessment online at the payment section below and send your completed Application form back to us with the payment details (Sample: Receipt No: 4909-2523-3089-9400)

Requirement and Standard of the Tai Chi Grading :

The requirements of grading listed below are just a reference according to the stardard of grading
system of China Wushu Association.

Level 1 Tai Chi Grade:
Tai Chi 8 Short Form, or equivalent level.

Level 2 Tai Chi Grade:
Tai Chi 11 Short Form, or equivalent level.

Level 3 Tai Chi Grade:
Tai Chi first 15 movement of 83 or Laojia Form, or 18 Short Form, or equivalent level plus 1 Short Weapon Form.

Level 4 Tai Chi Grade: (3 years of practicing experience is required)
Tai Chi first 30 movement of 83 or Laojia Form, or equivalent level plus 1 Short Weapon Form and Basic Tai Chi Push Hands.

Level 5 Tai Chi Grade: (5 years of practicing experience is required)
Tai Chi 83 or Laojia Form, Cannon Fist Form, or equivalent level plus 2 Short Weapon Form, 1 Long Weapon Form and Full Tai Chi Push Hands.

Level 6 Tai Chi Grade: (10 years of practicing experience is required)
Tai Chi 83 or Laojia Form, Cannon Fist Form, or equivalent level plus 2 Short Weapon Form, 2 Long Weapon Form and Full Tai Chi Push Hands.
Note: The level of the skills must be equivalent to the National or International Wushu competition championship in China.

Level 7 Tai Chi Grade: (15 years of practicing experience is required)
After achieved the 6th grade Duan Wei for 5 years, the applicant who knows the whole series of the style you apply for, can apply for the 7th grade Duan Wei. The applicant’s reputation, publications, contribution to Tai Chi will also be taken into account plus presentation skill and question answer on the assessment.

Level 8 Tai Chi Grade: (20 years of teaching experience is required)
After achieved the 7th grade Duan Wei for 5 years, the applicant who knows the whole series of the style you apply for, can apply for the 8th grade Duan Wei. The applicant’s reputation, publications, contribution to Chinese Wushu will also be taken into account plus presentation skill and question answer on the assessment.

Level 9 Tai Chi Grade: (30 years of teaching experience is required)
After achieved the 8th grade Duan Wei for 4 years, the applicant who knows the whole series of the style you apply for, can apply for the 9th grade Duan Wei. The applicant’s reputation, publications, contribution to Chinese Wushu will also be taken into account plus presentation skill and question answer on the assessment.

Level 1 Tai Chi Grade: £30.00 or €40 per person

Level 2 Tai Chi Grade: £35.00 or €45 per person

Level 3 Tai Chi Grade: £40.00 or €50 per person

Level 4 Tai Chi Grade: £50.00 or €65 per person

Level 5 Tai Chi Grade: £60.00 or €80 per person

Level 6 Tai Chi Grade: £ 90.00 or €120 per person

Level 7 Tai Chi Grade: £135.00 or €180 per person

Level 8 Tai Chi Grade: £200.00 or €260 per person

Level 9 Tai Chi Grade: £300.00 or €400 per person

Long Weapon Form:
