Introduction

The Tai Chi Centre is offering Instructor Training Courses and Assessments for Tai Chi and Qigong practitioners worldwide at face-to-face in person and online-based program. The Instructor Training Course is designed specifically for certificating individuals who want to be qualified as a Tai Chi and Qigong Instructors for future careers. Prospective instructors can teach Tai Chi and Qigong exercises in the future when they pass the assessment. Our certification is well recognized in the UK and many other countries.

For those people who are already been teaching or practicing Tai Chi and  Qigong for a long time, can apply for our certificate assessment scheme straight away without training with us. This also covers upgrade and renew of instructor certificate.

Prospective instructors will learn how to teach Tai Chi and Qigong exercises and, once they have completed the learning objectives, they will take assessments for certification. They also can apply for any level of instructor certificate and we will give them the appropriate level of instructor certificate upon their achievement during assessment.

The Instructor Course for Assessment is a two days face-to-face on Zoom or VmixCALL online seminar open to people worldwide and to applicants who attends our training hall in person, but it requires advance preparation at home by following our online teaching platform.

All prospective instructors should sign up as early as possible so that we can set up a Gold Member for you to study at home prior to attend the Assessment seminar. We also recommend that you should take relevant seminars organized by the Tai Chi Centre or book private lessons online or in person with Grandmaster Liming Yue directly. This will help you to achieve higher level of instructor certificates and build up better profiles for your future Tai Chi and Qigong career.

Prospective instructors are advised to contact Grandmaster Liming Yue to discuss their abilities prior enrolling the course, the requirements are listed below.

Procedure

Step 1: Make the payment at the Booking section below.
Step 2: Fill the application form then send it to liming.yue@taichicentre.com with a digital passport size photo.
Step 3: Once you have paid, your Gold member will be activated immediately for six months so you can commence training at home by following our online videos, books and live classes on Zoom or vMixcall. There is also a special Tutorial library for instructors.
Step 4: Attend the seminar and we will polish all you have been practising according to the level of instructor you applied for. Alternatively, for those people who is confident with the level of skills by following our online classes and videos in the library, can follow the precedure below to upload your videos online and we can assess you at any point when you are ready. Step 5: Assessment will take place on the day and we will publish the result on the same day so you can receive your instructor certificate upon your success of passing the assessment.
Step 6: When you have achieved the certificate you can apply for insurance through Wellbeing Insurance (formerly DSC Insurance Services) of DSC-Strand Ltd. Then you can start your teaching activities and enjoy your life as an instructor.

Training Course Entry Requirement

The Training Course Entry requirement for each level of instructor is different. No pre-experience is required for the Foundation Level Instructor with Qigong. This Training Course provides you following our instructional online based videos to practice either at home or attending our training in the Centre or at your local classes. Any relevant experience and skills in other martial arts, Physiotherapy or having been an instructor in other exercises such as Qigong, Yoga, Laugar, Shaolin Kung Fu, Football coaching, Dancing…etc will be taken into account for the consideration of acceptance on the course. We will improve your level of skills during the course and enable you to teach Tai Chi and Qigong exercise once you complete the course successfully.

Standard requirement for each level of instructor certificate (you need to meet the requirement at the level you are applying for)

Tai Chi Foundation Level of Instructor certificate with Qigong

Potential instructors should be able to demonstrate at the end of the course:

  • a good degree with competence of demonstrating Basic Silk Reeling Energy, Warm Up exercises and Qigong Foundation exercises.
  • a good degree with competence of demonstrating the Tai Chi 8 short forms.
  • an understanding of basic Tai Chi principles and philosophy.

Tai Chi Level one Instructor certificate with Qigong

Potential instructors must achieve the level of Tai Chi Foundation Instructor and should be able to demonstrate at the end of the course:

  • a good degree with competence of demonstrating Basic Silk Reeling Energy, Warm Up exercises and Qigong Foundation exercises.
  • a good degree with competence of demonstrating the Tai Chi 8 short forms.
  • a good degree with competence of demonstrating Tai Chi 11 Form.
  • a good understanding of basic Tai Chi principles and philosophy.

Tai Chi Level two Instructor certificate with Qigong

Potential instructors must achieve the level one and should be able to demonstrate at the end of the course:

  • a good degree with competence of demonstrating Full set of Silk Reeling Energy, Warm Up exercises and Qigong Foundation exercises.
  • a good degree with competence of demonstrating the Tai Chi 8 short forms.
  • a good degree with competence of demonstrating Tai Chi 11 Form.
  • a good degree with competence of demonstrating at least First 15 movements of the 83 New Frame (Xinjia) or Old Frame (Laojia), or 18 Short Form with basic Push Hands.
  • a good understanding of Tai Chi principles and philosophy.

Tai Chi Level three Instructor certificate with Qigong

Potential instructors must achieve the level one and should be able to demonstrate at the end of the course:

  • a good degree with competence of demonstrating Full set of Silk Reeling Energy, Warm Up exercises and Qigong Foundation exercises.
  • a good degree with competence of demonstrating the Tai Chi 8 short forms.
  • a good degree with competence of demonstrating Tai Chi 11 Form.
  • a good degree with competence of demonstrating the Tai Chi 18 short forms.
  • a good degree wirh competence of demonstrating at least First 30 movements of Chen Style Tai Chi Form 83 New Frame (Xinjia) or Old Frame (Laojia), Push Hands and Sword (or Sabre).
  • a good understanding of Tai Chi principles and philosophy.

Dates and Times

The Instructor Training Course will be running over weekends, however, the potential instructors are expected to have significant practices prior to the course, in general, at least one hour a day and four days a week of training is required. Prospective instructors on the course will be encouraged to train with Grandmaster Liming’s regular classes and seminars whenever possible to achieve improvement with their forms and knowledge of Tai Chi and Qigong.

The current fee is £435.00 for Zoom and £495 for VIP on vMixcall and it includes:

  • A full set of Tai Chi and Qigong videos library access to Gold member area
  • FREE online Gold Member for six months; so you can visit all clubs on the site
  • Instructor Certificate
  • One weekend seminar tuition fee

Any prospective instructor who can’t pass the assessment successfully during the course are welcome to join the re-assessment in three month time or take part in the next instructor course at FREE of charge.

Course Contents – What you will be learning from the course

The course will teach you how to become a professional instructor along polishing your form, postures and application skills. The theory and principle of Tai Chi & Qigong will also be covered in the course as well. Prospective instructors will be categorized in different groups according to their level of skills. Group works and discussion will be carried out throughout the course, so please write down all questions so that we can discuss during the course.
Additionally, we will teach prospective instructors how to structure the classes and cope with varies situations during their future teaching. Appart from above, the individual instructor will gain great benefit from the following program upon his( her) level of skills.

Instructor Certificate Online Assessment System for well trained people

We have also set up a new system for those existing instructors and well qualified practitioners of Tai Chi and Qigong to be qualified through our Online Assessment platform. This scheme is only available for those people who have got very solid foundation and been practicing and teaching Tai Chi and Qigong for over two years.
